Rack size
Choose 19-inch for standard rack equipment, or 10-inch Miniline where a compact cabinet suits a smaller installation.

Choose the rack format and cabinet dimensions you need. If you are unsure, use the guidance below before comparing the matching cabinets.
Before you start
Rack size describes the equipment mounting standard, not the external width of the cabinet. Choose the format that matches your equipment.
Check the mounting format of your equipment. Also check the cabinet’s external dimensions separately to ensure it fits your available space.
Choose rack size, height and depth to see matching cabinets.
Add together the U heights of the equipment you intend to rack-mount and allow space for cabling, airflow and possible future additions. Some items mounted on shelves may need additional clearance.
Nominal cabinet depth is not the same as usable equipment depth. Check the manufacturer’s supported equipment depth and leave adequate room for connectors, cable bends and ventilation.
Check external width, height and depth, wall or floor mounting suitability, door opening, service access and load rating. Rack format alone does not establish the cabinet’s outside width.
Choosing a cabinet
Start with the equipment you need to house and the space available. Rack size, U height and device depth determine the main fit; mounting and assembly then narrow the practical options.
Choose 19-inch for standard rack equipment, or 10-inch Miniline where a compact cabinet suits a smaller installation.
Rack height is measured in U. Add up the equipment you plan to install and leave sensible spare capacity for later additions.
Check your deepest device and allow practical clearance for connectors, power leads and cable bends.
Choose a mounting type that suits the installation location, then select an assembled or flat-packed cabinet where both are available.
