Network Cables

Network Cables

Patch leads for equipment connections, installation cable for permanent links, network couplers and installation tools for structured cabling.

Choosing the right network cabling

Choose the cable type according to the job: patch leads connect network equipment and outlets, while installation cable is intended for permanent structured cabling runs. Couplers can join existing terminated cables or solid installation cable, with punchdown tools available for IDC termination.

Connecting network equipment

Cat6 patch leads provide ready-terminated RJ45 connections for patch panels, switches, routers, data outlets and other network equipment. Choose standard patch leads for general equipment connections, with multiple colours and lengths available, or the black external range where a PU-jacketed patch lead is required.

Installing permanent cabling

For permanent links, choose Cat5e or Cat6 U/UTP installation cable. The range includes solid-copper LSZH cable for indoor installations and black PE-jacketed cable for external applications, with 100m and 305m options available across the range.

Joining and terminating cabling

RJ45 inline couplers join two terminated network cables without re-terminating them. IDC punchdown couplers instead join solid installation cables without fitting RJ45 plugs, while compatible 110 and Krone punchdown tools provide the termination equipment for IDC installation work.

Cat5e or Cat6 installation cable?

The current installation-cable range includes Cat5e cable specified at 100 MHz and Cat6 cable specified at 250 MHz. Choose the category required by the network specification and keep the permanent-link components appropriately matched throughout the installation.
