How do I know whether the drawer is shallow enough for my cabinet?

Measure from the front mounting rail to the first rear obstruction rather than relying only on the cabinet's advertised external depth.

Rails, doors, cables and rear equipment all consume space.

The external cabinet depth is a rather optimistic proxy for the room actually available to a drawer.
