Should I choose a 2m or 5m PDU lead?

Choose the length that reaches the intended supply cleanly without putting the cable under tension.

A longer lead is useful when the supply point is genuinely further away, but surplus cable still has to live somewhere; there is no particular merit in storing several unnecessary metres in the cabinet simply because they were available.
