Can I terminate Cat5e cable on a Cat6 patch panel or module?

Usually, yes, if the Cat6 hardware accepts the conductor diameter. But the cable is still Cat5e, so the finished link cannot be claimed as Cat6 just because one end of it has a Cat6 label.

Terminate it properly and treat the channel as Cat5e unless the entire installed link has the components and test result needed for the higher category.
