Does using higher-category cable guarantee a faster network connection?
No. The active devices still determine the Ethernet speed they can negotiate, and every component in the channel has to support the application.
Higher-category cabling can provide the transmission performance needed for faster applications and more margin, but a Cat6 cable does not turn a 100Mbps switch into a Gigabit switch any more than a wider driveway changes the engine in the car.
