Is it worth labelling ports and patch leads in a small cabinet?

Yes. Small networks have an inconvenient tendency to stop being quite as small as everybody remembers.

A few clearly labelled ports and leads can save a surprising amount of time later, particularly when several cables disappear into walls and emerge in different rooms.

You may know perfectly well today that the blue lead goes to the office access point and the grey one goes upstairs. Eighteen months later, both can become “the ones I probably shouldn’t unplug”.

Labels are cheap institutional memory.
