Can I use the shelf in a 2-post rack?
Yes, provided the rack is the correct 10" or 19" format and its rails are suitable for the intended load.
A 2-post rack is not a deficiency here: this particular shelf was designed to derive its support from one rail plane, so adding two imaginary rear posts would solve no problem of its own.
