Could handles or other parts projecting from the front of my equipment hit the glass door?

Yes.

Rack depth is often discussed as though equipment ends neatly at its mounting ears. Real products occasionally disagree. Handles, knobs, plugs, display bezels and other projections can all extend towards the glass.

If necessary, the front mounting profiles can be moved further into the cabinet to create more clearance.

A chassis that clears the rear beautifully is of limited consolation if its proudest front handle is trying to occupy the same space as the glass.

Check both ends.
