Why is there a plastic cross member inside the Cat6 cable?
The Cat6 products use a polyethylene cross member to help maintain the geometry and separation of the four twisted pairs, which assists crosstalk performance.
It is not decorative packing. Trim only what you need at the termination and avoid dismantling half the cable in pursuit of a prettier fan-out.
