Configuration guidance

Useful checks and next steps for your current configuration.

Not sure where to start?

Build your cabinet around what you need to install.

Patch panels — organise network terminations.

Network switches — add active network equipment.

Power distribution — provide rack power.

Shelves — support equipment that does not mount directly to the rack.

Keep your patch leads organised

Cable management can help route and support the patch leads around your patch panel.

Add power distribution

A rack PDU can provide a practical power connection point for your network equipment.

Support shelf required

Your shelf-mounted equipment needs a support shelf. The required shelf has been added automatically and its rack space is counted separately.

Allow room for future expansion
